Pedro Reyes, a Mexican artist who uses sculpture, architecture, video, and performance in his work, is collaborating with the Creative Time, a New York public art organization, to put together his “Doomocracy” exhibition – also know as “The Haunted House of Political Horrors.” The haunted house will critique various aspects of society through parts of the exhibit. For example, one room will be a creepy funeral home that “specializes in coffins made in the shape of the processed-food item most loved by the deceased.” I thought that this was a really interest application of sculpture and performance to comment on the state of American politics, especially with this upcoming election.
