This week, the Penn Fashion Collective teamed up with the British online clothing retailer ASOS to bring some basic graphic designs.
Participants could select their own designs to be printed on canvas bags. The best-voted designs were entered into a national competition and could potentially be posted on the ASOS website. The overall winner will also receive $5,000 in creative grant and a trip to the ASOS headquarters in London, and could as well have the chance for their design to be sold online on the ASOS website.
This event was a really cool way of seeing how fashion and technology meet in a pretty basic way – computerized designs were printed on to tangible canvas bags. Technology advances as humans advance, and each aspect of our existence follows suite. Fashion is certainly no exception.
