Kodak’s Throwback Logo

Kodak recently announced its photographer-focused smartphone, Ektra. They chose to use an old logo for their new logo, essentially a throwback to an iconic shape and color scheme that branded Kodak from the 70’s to early 2000’s.

This new logo was created by a studio in New York, Work-Order. The old one was designed by a graphic designer, Peter Oestreich.

This was an interesting article for me because I love the idea of cyclicality in art. It’s something we see everyday: artists and designers using old ideas to inspire new creations.
