I consider myself a moderate foodie, and like my food best when it looks just as good as it tastes. One of my favorite restaurants in my home town, Austin, Texas, is Uchi, a modern Japanese style restaurant that gives eating out a whole new flare. One of the things I really love about Uchi is how beautiful every single plate looks when it comes to the table. The attention to detail and the perfect balance of colors is really remarkable, and makes the dishes so gorgeous you almost don’t want to eat the (almost).
Food is a really interesting medium of art because its creations are only here for a few moments before being consumed by its participants. It is very temporary, which adds another layer of delicacy and intrigue to the entire production.
