Clet:Modifying Street Signs

During my search for icon inspiration for my street sign, I came across the artist Clet Abraham, a man who lives in Florence. Clet Abraham, also known as “Clet”, modifies common street signs to give them a new, deeper meaning. For example, a dead end sign is turned into a crucifix with Jesus stapled on, a left-turn arrow is turned into a guitar with a stick figure man playing around it, and a no entry sign is turned into a sumo wrester picking up a log. He claims that his work “stem[s] from a reflection upon our ‘common visual space.'”
