Using animation to convey a message

During New Student Orientation last month, all the incoming freshmen were seated in the Irvine Auditorium and played the “sexual consent” video. I’m sure everyone remembers it, the video that linked sexual consent to “drinking tea.”

I thought it was interesting to watch again since we’re diving into animation, and conveying something that is expressed in words, with art. It’s unique yet straightforward in relaying ideas. It shows that animation doesn’t need to be complicated or complex to display a written message.
